William Wilbur Lawless, (2), son of William C. and Mary Lawless, was born on October 10, 1864, near Columbus, Illinois. He was a member of the Methodist Church. On February 6, 1887, he was married to Mary Annie Thomas in her home at Carthage, Illinois. She was born in 1863 to Evan P. and Lucy A. Thomas. They lived on his father’s farm, south of Paloma. Four years later they moved to their farm one mile south of Carthage, where they lived until 1903, when they moved to Carthage. His wife died on June 5, 1936. On October 12, 1938, he was married to Mary Sue Gillis. She was born February 5, 1876. He died in Carthage on December 5, 1938, and was buried in Carthage, Illinois. From the first marriage, there was one son, who died at birth on March 10, 1889, and was buried in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.  Mary died at age 100 on February 21, 1976 in Quincy, Illinois.

James Albert Lawless, (2), son of William Conrad and Mary Lawless, was born on July 10, 1871, and died on July 25, 1871. Burial was at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Adams County.
